Know the rules before choosing training
New York does not use one statewide licensing system for ordinary electrician, plumbing and HVAC contracting comparable to Texas. The New York Department of State says contractor/electrician licensing questions are generally handled through local laws and local building departments. Requirements can therefore change by city, town, village or county.
A contractor license, employee credential, apprentice registration and federal certification are not automatically the same thing. Always verify the exact role and locality.
