DATA TRANSPARENCY

How TrainingForFuture Handles Career Data

Career decisions deserve numbers you can trace. We separate official labor-market benchmarks from personalized planning estimates and show the source period whenever a figure comes from public data.

OUR SOURCE HIERARCHY

Three labels, three different meanings

OFFICIAL BENCHMARK

Federal labor-market data

National wage medians, wage percentiles, annual openings, and employment projections are anchored to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. We display the wage period and projection period next to these figures.

BLS OEWS · Occupational Outlook Handbook · Employment Projections

OFFICIAL REQUIREMENT

Training, licensing & credential sources

When a career requires regulated credentials, we prefer the responsible government agency or official program directory instead of secondary summaries.

Apprenticeship.gov · state licensing boards · EPA · FMCSA

PLANNING ESTIMATE

Personalized career guidance

State-aware recommendations, likely career paths, and roadmap sequencing may combine official sources with model-assisted planning. These are decision-support estimates, not government wage quotes or guarantees.

Career matching · roadmap sequencing · local planning ranges

What a BLS median means

A national median is the wage where half of workers in the occupation earned more and half earned less. It is not an entry-level wage, not a promise, and not a quote for a particular state or employer.

Where available, TrainingForFuture also shows BLS 10th- and 90th-percentile thresholds so readers can see how wide the national wage distribution is.

Growth is not the same as openings

BLS projected growth measures how employment is expected to change over the full projection period. Annual openings also include replacement needs when workers retire, leave the occupation, or move to other work.

That is why an occupation with modest growth can still have many openings each year.

AI DISCLOSURE

What AI may help with — and what it does not define

AI may help organize personalized career matches, explain trade-offs, and draft roadmap steps. It does not create the official BLS wage medians or employment projections shown as verified benchmarks.

When personalized guidance goes beyond a directly sourced benchmark, we treat it as a planning estimate and tell readers to verify regulated requirements with the issuing authority.

UPDATE POLICY

We update the source, not just the date

National pay & outlookRefreshed when BLS publishes a newer wage period or employment-projection cycle.
Licensing & credentialsChecked against the responsible agency when a major guide is created or materially updated.
Personalized planningClearly labeled as guidance when it goes beyond a directly quoted official benchmark.

Important limitations

  • • Actual pay varies by state, metro area, union status, specialty, overtime, employer, and experience.
  • • Self-employment income and overtime may not be reflected by a national median.
  • • Licensing rules vary by state and sometimes by city or county; always verify with the responsible authority.
  • • TrainingForFuture career matches and roadmaps are planning tools, not employment, wage, admission, or licensing guarantees.

Use the data, then personalize the decision

Start with official national benchmarks, then compare the training route and roadmap that fits your own situation.
