Know the rules before choosing training
Florida licenses electrical contractors through the Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board and plumbing/air-conditioning contractors through the Construction Industry Licensing Board. Certified contractor licenses can allow statewide contracting, while registered contractor licenses are tied to approved local jurisdictions. Entry-level employee and local competency requirements can differ from contractor licensing.
A contractor license, employee credential, apprentice registration and federal certification are not automatically the same thing. Always verify the exact role and locality.
